The Honeywell Elster Quantometer QA40 is a turbine-type gas flow meter for industrial, non-fiscal metering, available in two connection variants with the same 65 m³/h maximum flow rating: Type 25 G I, sized DN25 (1" FNPT, threaded), with a flow range of 3.3 to 65 m³/h; and Type 40 GF I, sized DN40 (1½" FNPT, flanged), with a flow range of 5 to 65 m³/h. A free-spinning turbine wheel is set in motion by the gas flow, with the number of revolutions proportional to the volume passed, read out via a mechanical roller counter in m³. Rated to a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar, it covers an operating temperature range of -10°C to +60°C, and is ATEX certified for use in hazardous areas — hazardous area rating II 2G c IIC T4, CE 0085. Manufactured by Elster Instromet (Honeywell Elster); commonly used for in-plant allocation and consumption monitoring on boilers, furnaces and heating systems running on natural gas and other non-corrosive gases.
